Kriticapp – Privacy Policy (Global)

This Privacy Policy explains how VeranoSoft Private Limited (“VeranoSoft”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Kriticapp app, website, and related services (“Kriticapp” or the “Service”). This policy applies globally, with additional sections for the United States, the United Kingdom, and India. Read it together with the Terms of Use.

VeranoSoft operates Kriticapp. Depending on where you live, we may be a “data controller”, “data fiduciary”, or similar role under local law.

2. Information We Collect

• Account and profile: name/display name, username/handle, email/phone, profile image (optional).
• Approximate location and proximity: distance estimates from device signals; no exact GPS shown to other users.
• Device and technical: device model, OS, app version, IP, language, time zone, crash/performance data.
• User content: tags (who and when), notes sent/received, inbox status, reports, blocks, moderation decisions, and content removal actions.
• Contacts (optional): if you choose to sync contacts, Kriticapp uploads phone numbers from your device contacts to our server to match friends already using Kriticapp and show who you can invite. We use this contact data only for friend matching and invite suggestions. We do not sell contact data, use it for advertising, or show your address book to other users.
• Usage data: feature usage, events (tag creation, note creation, settings changes).

SMS/OTP: If you choose phone verification, we process your phone number and keep records of your SMS OTP consent (timestamp, source/app, and opt-out status) to send authentication passcodes and for compliance. We do not use OTP consent to send marketing messages.

3. How We Use Information

• Provide and maintain Kriticapp: accounts, proximity view, tagging, 24-hour note window, inbox, contacts matching, and invite suggestions.
• Promote safety and prevent abuse: filter objectionable content, detect spam/harassment, enforce Terms, process reports, support blocking and deletion/removal tools, and respond to legal requests.
• Improve and develop: analyse usage to improve design/performance, develop new features and safety tools.
• Communicate: service or safety notifications, support responses, and other communications where permitted.
• Comply with legal obligations: records, lawful requests. Consent is used where required (e.g., location, contacts, analytics/marketing).

4. Sharing Your Information

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We share with other users (intended recipients), service providers under contract, authorities where required, in corporate transactions, and as aggregated/anonymised data.
• We do not share uploaded contact lists with other users. Contact matching may tell you which contacts are already on Kriticapp or can be invited, but it does not expose your full address book.

5. Data Retention

We keep data as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal/record requirements, and resolve disputes. Unused tags (no note) expire after 24 hours. Deleted accounts/notes are deleted or anonymised subject to legal retention.

Uploaded contact phone numbers are used for matching and invite suggestions. We do not keep a user-visible copy of your address book. We may temporarily process contact phone numbers, normalized numbers, or privacy-preserving derived values long enough to perform matching, prevent abuse, debug operational issues, and comply with law. Where contact data is no longer needed for those purposes, we delete, anonymise, or replace it with non-identifying derived data.

Reports, moderation decisions, blocked-user records, and enforcement records may be retained as needed for safety, abuse prevention, dispute handling, legal compliance, and repeat-offender detection.

6. Children’s Privacy

Kriticapp is intended for users 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if discovered, we delete it and may close the account.

7. International Transfers

Data may be stored/processed in other countries. Where required, we apply safeguards (e.g., contractual protections) for cross-border transfers.

8. Security

We use technical and organisational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, security updates). No system is perfectly secure; keep your device and credentials safe.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your region, you may access, correct, delete, withdraw consent (where applicable), object/restrict certain processing, and request portability. Contact contact@veranosoft.com; we may verify identity.

10. Additional Information for Users in the United States

• US state privacy laws (e.g., CCPA/CPRA) may grant rights to know, access, delete, receive disclosure info, and not be discriminated against for exercising rights.
• We do not sell personal information.

11. Additional Information for Users in the United Kingdom

• We act as data controller. Lawful bases: contract necessity, legitimate interests (safety/abuse prevention/product improvement), and consent (location, contacts, analytics/marketing where required).
• Rights: access, correction, deletion, restriction/objection, portability (where applicable), and complaint to the ICO.

12. Additional Information for Users in India

• We act as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and rules.
• We generally rely on consent; other lawful grounds may apply where permitted.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email with an updated “Last updated” date. Continuing to use Kriticapp after changes means you accept the updates.
