There are four types of Search Combo Boxes used in Categorize Plus.
These include Category Search, Email
Address Search, Custom Search and Standard
Search combo boxes. The first three types are added to the Categorize Plus Toolbar
by selecting either Category Tag, Email Address or Custom Search Menu Items from the
Categorize Plus Search
Menu. The fourth type is added by selecting Standard Searches from the
Standard Searches Menu that is
also listed under the Search Menu. Each of these four types of Search
Combo Boxes are illustrated below. For more information on how to create
Categorize Plus Menu Items and add them to the Search Menu, then
please refer to the Building Menus help topic. Note: The Search Combo Boxes are only available when a
compatible search engine is installed in Outlook. Please refer to the Search Engines
help topic for more information regarding the alternative search engines and
their use with Categorize Plus. Identifying Search Combo Boxes Search Combo Boxes in the Categorize Plus Toolbar are
identified by the Remove Search Combo Boxes
command button. Combo boxes just to the right of this command
button are Search Combo Boxes. An example of this button is shown in the

Using Search Combo Boxes
Whenever a Search Combo Box is added to the toolbar, then Categorize Plus will first look for the respective search engine's toolbar and then look for the search engine's text input box that is located in the toolbar. If found, then Categorize Plus will automatically write the selected search criteria into the text input box and execute the search command. This will cause the respective search engine to execute the search. Please refer to the Search Engines help topic for more information regarding the use of search engines with Categorize Plus. - Email Address Search is used to search for Outlook items based on the names or email addresses contained in the From, To, CC and BCC address fields of Outlook items.
- Custom Search combo boxes are used to search Outlook items based on a variety of user defined custom search criteria.
- Standard Search is used to search Outlook items based on pre-configured search criteria that is selected from the Categorize Plus Standard Searches Menu.
- Group Searches are used to group multiple Category Searches, Email Address Searches and Custom Searches together in complex queries.
