Entering Menu Captions

The text entered in the Menu Builder caption field is used by Categorize Plus to create the menu caption that is displayed in the Categorize Menu, the Filter Menu and the Search Menu.  As is true with all menu captions, adding an '&' in the caption will create an underlined keyboard accelerator that allows execution of the menu command simply by pressing ALT+<the underlined letter>.  For instance, to open the Edit menu, where the "E" is underlined, then simply press ALT+E.  Creating menu accelerators using this technique will minimize keystrokes when categorizing, filtering and searching for Outlook items.

For example, in the illustration below, the category titled "Projects" includes an '&' in front of the 'P', and it's child category titled "Active" includes a '&' in front of the 'A', and it's child category "Categorize Plus" includes an '&' in front of the 'C'.  Therefore, after saving the menu file and creating the associated Categorize, Filter and Search Menus, then each of these menu items can be selected with a single keystroke using the assigned menu accelerator.  In this example, to quickly categorize an item, simply press ALT+Z to open the Categorize menu using it's pre-assigned menu accelerator, and then press P+A+C to select each of the menu items associated with Projects, Active and Categorize Plus.
