Copy, Cut and Paste using the Clipboard

The first option is to use the Copy, Cut and Paste commands.  Please refer to the Menu Builder Clipboard help topic to learn more about the Copy, Cut and Paste operations.  Furthermore, the Paste command has two options, to either Insert Before or Paste as Child.  Insert Before will insert the pasted item in the row above the currently selected row.  Paste as Child will paste the item as a child of the currently selected item.

Drag and Drop

It is possible to perform drag and drop operations while in the Menu Builder.  Simply select the records, then hold down the left mouse button while dragging.  In the Explorer View, it is only possible to perform a drag and drop in the tree view side of the view (the left side of the view).  It is also possible to perform drag and drop operations within the clipboard and between the clipboard and the Menu Builder.  Please refer to the Menu Builder Clipboard help topic for more information on using the Menu Builder clipboard.

Drag and Drop Modifiers

• The default operation is to move the items. 
• To copy, hold down Ctrl while dragging
• To insert as a child, hold down Alt while dragging
• To not include the children in the move or copy, hold down Shift while dragging
