Custom Search combo boxes are used to search for Outlook items by
entering user defined search criteria into the search input box of the
currently selected search engine. Custom Search combo boxes are one
of four types of Search Combo Boxes available in
Categorize Plus and are added to the Categorize Plus Toolbar by selecting Search
Menu Items from the Categorize Plus Search Menu. The example at the end of
this help topic illustrates how to add a Custom Search combo box to the
toolbar. For more information on how to create Custom Search
Menu Items and add them to the Search Menu, then please refer to the
Building
Menus help topic. Note: The Categorize Plus Search Menu and Search Combo
Boxes are only available when a compatible search engine is installed in
Outlook. Please refer to the Search Engines help topic for more
information regarding the alternative search engines and their use with
Categorize Plus. Applying a Custom Search The text stored in the criteria field of Custom Search Menu Items represent
a user defined search query string that can be entered directly into the
search input box of the currently selected search engine. When a Custom
Search Menu Item is selected from the Categorize Plus Search Menu, then
Categorize Plus reads the query string that is stored in the menu item's
criteria field. Categorize Plus will then look for the respective
search engine's text input box that is located in the search engine's
toolbar. If found, Categorize Plus will then automatically write the
selected search criteria into the text input box and execute the search
command. This will cause the respective search engine to execute the
search. Please refer to the Search Engines help topic for more
information regarding the use of these alternative search engines
with Categorize Plus. To learn how to assign a custom search query
string to the criteria field of a Custom Search Menu Item, then please
