There are three options available for configuring Categorize Plus to
automatically categorize Outlook items. These options are shown in the
illustration below. Please refer to the Categorize Plus Options help
topic to learn how to open the Categorize Plus Options dialog. After
opening the dialog, then select the Auto Categorize Tab to display the options
page that is explained in this help topic. Options Available for Automatically Categorizing
Outlook items
Auto
Categorize by Subject provides five options for configuring
Categorize Plus to automatically categorize Outlook items using the item's
subject. This option can be configured to automatically categorize
Outlook items when these items are added to the default Inbox folder, the
default Calendar folder, the default Task folder, the default Sent
Items folder, or any other selected Outlook folder. When this
option is enabled, then whenever items are categorized using Categorize Plus,
the item's categories and subject are saved in a database. Then, when an
item that has the same subject is added to one of the selected folders, then
the item will be automatically categorized with the same categories.
There is also an option to set the length of time that subjects are saved in
the database. This option applies to all versions of Categorize Plus
including the Free, Lite, Standard and Professional.
Auto Erase
Categories provides two options to configure Categorize Plus to automatically
erase categories assigned to Outlook items. The item's categories can be
automatically erased when either sending or receiving
Outlook items. This option applies to all versions of Categorize
Plus including the Free, Lite, Standard and Professional.
The Auto Categorize by Folder Wizard is used to automatically categorize
Outlook items that are contained in selected Outlook folders. This
wizard assists users in converting from using folders to using categories by
automatically categorizing items using folder and sub-folder names. This
wizard also automatically creates Category Tag Menu Items in the Categorize Plus Menu
Hierarchy such that the menu structure mirrors the Outlook folder
hierarchy. These Category Tag Menu Items will then be available for
use in the Categorize Plus Categorize Menu, Filter Menu and Search
Menu. During this process, each Outlook item can also be
copied to a single Outlook folder. Locating all of the items into a
single folder allows the folder to be easily filtered or searched using the
newly created categories. For more information on how to manually create

Hierarchy, then please refer to the Building Menus help
topic.
Note: The Auto Categorize by Folder
Wizard is only available in the Professional version of Categorize Plus.
