Categorize Plus Reference
Add Category Combo Boxes

Category Combo Boxes are added to the Categorize Plus Toolbar by selecting Category Tag Menu Items from the Categorize Menu.  This process is illustrated in the example below.  For more information on how to create Category Tag Menu Items that are contained in the Categorize Menu, then please refer to the Building Menus help topic.

Enabling the Add Category Combo Boxes Option

If the Categorize Menu is NOT configured to add Category Combo Boxes to the toolbar, then any selected Menu Items will NOT be added as Category Combo Boxes.  Instead, selected Menu Items will be used to immediately categorize Outlook items and no combo boxes will be created.  If this is the case, then the option to add Category Combo Boxes will need to be enabled before Category Combo Boxes can be added to the toolbar.  Please refer to the Categorize Menu help topic to learn how to enable this option.

Identifying Category Combo Boxes

Once a Category Combo Box is added to the toolbar, then the Remove Category Combo Boxes command button will appear in the toolbar just to the left of the Category Combo Box.  This command button serves two purposes.  The first purpose is to designate that the combo boxes to the right of this button are Category Combo Boxes as opposed to Filter Combo Boxes or Search Combo Boxes.  The second purpose is to provide an easy means for removing all of the Category Combo Boxes from the toolbar.  Please refer to the Remove Category Combo Boxes help topic for more information regarding the Remove Category Combo Boxes command button.  Please refer the Category Combo Boxes help topic for more detailed information on identifying Category Combo Boxes.

Behavior of Standard and Group Menu Hierarchies

Whenever a child Menu Item is selected from within a Standard Menu Hierarchy, then both the child Menu Item and the parent Menu Item are simultaneously added as combo boxes to the Categorize Plus Toolbar.  Conversely, when a child Menu Item is selected from within a Group Menu Hierarchy, then the parent group Menu Item is not added to the toolbar.  To learn more regarding the behavior of Standard and Group Menu Hierarchies, then please refer to the Standard Menu Hierarchy and Group Menu Hierarchy help topics.
