Categorize Plus Repeatedly Disconnects
If the Categorize Plus add-in repeatedly disconnects from
Outlook, then you may have a problem with the files that
Outlook uses to store information. There are two files
that are often associated with problems in Outlook. The
first file is EXTEND.DAT and this is
the file where Outlook saves information regarding your
currently installed add-ins. The second file is
OUTCMD.DAT and this is
the file where Outlook saves your command bars
configuration. If either file is corrupted,
then deleting the file will fix the problem.
If you shutdown Outlook and delete these files, then
Outlook will re-create these files from scratch the next
time that Outlook restarts.
Deleting these files often fixes a wide variety of problems
including improving load times and fixing problems with add-ins
repeatedly disconnecting. Please follow the steps below
to delete these files.
Delete
the "EXTEND.DAT" file.
- Shut-down Outlook.

Depending on your operating system, copy and paste the
path file into the Windows Explorer address bar.
Windows
XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\
Windows Vista:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\
- The EXTEND.DAT file
should now appear in the folder you just opened,
simply delete it.
- Restart Outlook.
Delete
the "OUTCMD.DAT" file.
- Shut-down Outlook.

Windows Vista:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook
- The OUTCMD.DAT should
now appear in the folder you just opened, simply
delete it.
- Restart Outlook.
